Having completed a DEA thesis on the history of deposit banks in Russia in the eighteenth century, Véronique Fossoul began her career at Caisse des Dépôts, responsible for various assignments and reporting to the Chief Executive Officer.

After working in communications in the advertising and cultural sectors, she returned to Caisse des Dépôts in 1998, joining the Legal Department. From 2001 to 2008, she held the positions of General Secretariat and Project Manager at CDC Ixis, CNCEP and BPCE.

From 2008 to 2010, her responsibilities were extended to include the functions of Risk Manager for the new BPCE group, where she was in charge of the large exposures hedging programme. She continued her career in the insurance sector, becoming Deputy Director of Strategic Insurance Monitoring at BPCE in charge of borrower insurance and the insurance strategy for the Banque Populaire network.

In 2014, she left the bank to successively hold the positions of Corporate Secretary, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Management Board of MFPrévoyance, a subsidiary of CNP Assurances, until December 2023.

She is currently Director of the Social Protection BU at the European Development and Partnerships Department of CNP Assurances and in charge of strategic thinking on ageing well and the loss of autonomy.
