Representation of interests and transparency

CNP Assurances maintains regular dialogue with the public authorities and elected representatives on legislative and regulatory texts that impact the insurance sector. This dialogue is conducted in strict compliance with the rules of transparency, ethics and political neutrality, in accordance with the French and European requirements applying to the representation of interests.
 

Scope and nature of interest-representation activities 

The interest-representation work of CNP Assurances SA and its subsidiaries in France, Europe and abroad mainly consists in: 

  • contributing to the studies and positions of professional organisations and market bodies in the insurance sector, 
  • taking part in institutional dialogue with public authorities, including administrations, supervisory authorities and parliamentarians, 
  • for international subsidiaries, participating in meetings organised as part of French diplomatic representations, 
  • promoting the positions of CNP Assurances on the legislative and regulatory texts having an impact on its business activities. 

The Group Corporate Secretary is responsible for supervising the lobbying and interest-representation activities of the CNP Assurances Group.


Governance and ethical framework 

CNP Assurances’ public affairs and interest-representation activities are subject to a dedicated governance system and a demanding ethical framework.

Our group has adopted a Charter for the Responsible Representation of Interests, which: 

  • defines the principles, commitments and rules applicable to interest-representation activities, 
  • ensures compliance with French and European legal and regulatory requirements, 
  • reaffirms the principles of probity, integrity, transparency and political neutrality. 
     

Political neutrality and financial contributions 

In accordance with our commitments and our Charter:

  • CNP Assurances does not make any political contributions, be they direct or indirect, financial or in-kind, 
  • CNP Assurances SA does not finance any political party, candidate or political organisation, in France or abroad. 

The total monetary value of the Group’s political contributions is zero in all countries, geographical regions and types of beneficiaries combined.
 

Transparency and official records 

CNP Assurances strictly applies the transparency obligations provided for by French and European regulations on the representation of interests. 

The information reported in these records is public and updated annually in accordance with regulatory requirements.

CNP Assurances has recently asserted its positions on the following topics: 

  • Customer protection (retail investment strategy, value for money), 
  • Prudential (Solvency 2, Insurance Capital Standards, transposition of the Insurance Recovery and Resolution Directive), 
  • The strategy of the Savings and Investment Union (SIU), 
  • Supplementary pensions (IORP II and PEPP) and retirement savings plans, 
  • The Finance Europe label, 
  • The simplification and revision of the sustainability framework (CSRD, CS3D, Taxonomy, ESRS, SFDR), 
  • Financial data access, 
  • Artificial intelligence regulation (AI Act). 
  • Climate resilience.

 

Expenses related to membership of professional organisations  

In 2025, CNP Assurances’ total contributions to the main professional organisations, federations and think tanks amounted to €831,668. This includes the memberships of Geneva Association (€97,084), Eurofi (€50,000) and Paris Europlace (€45,000).

Memo 
In accordance with the applicable rules, expenses declared for interest-representation activities may, in principle, be prorated where the membership of professional organisations covers both lobbying activities and other tasks, including information, studies, and market coordination.
When this breakdown is not available in sufficient detail, for the sake of transparency CNP Assurances takes a prudent approach consisting in declaring the full amount of the membership concerned.
