Sébastien Gilles holds degrees from the École Polytechnique and ENSAE ParisTech and is a certified member of the French Institute of Actuaries. He is also a chief engineer with a diploma from the Ecole des Mines.
He began his career at the ACPR, where he worked for seven years as an insurance supervisor, then as deputy head of the unit responsible for European and foreign insurers.
In 2019, he joined CNP Assurances as project manager reporting to the Group Chief Financial Officer, then in 2021 became head of the group actuarial function and Finance programmes; his achievements include managing the IFRS 17 and CSRD projects.
He also teaches actuarial science at the French Centre for Actuarial Studies.
