CNP Assurances is joining the Acteurs de La French Care association, which brings together the French healthcare ecosystem. A major player in social protection, CNP Assurances is proactively engaged in promoting preventive healthcare in the workplace, where the health of 27 million employees is at stake every day in France.
CNP Assurances is joining this drive as an insurer belonging to France’s major public financial sector, Grand pôle financier public, contributing its expertise on social protection issues and determined to participate in the structuring projects identified by the association.
CNP Assurances’ expertise in workplace prevention
The primary focus of this commitment, workplace prevention, remains a largely untapped lever. The annual cost of absenteeism in France is estimated at between €25 billion and €60 billion, depending on the calculation method, and the French health agency, Agence de l'innovation en santé, estimates that nearly 100,000 deaths can be prevented each year through a more proactive healthcare prevention policy.
According to a study by Asterès for Acteurs de La French Care, a structured investment in prevention could generate between €5 billion and €17 billion in annual savings for the health system.
With more than 27 million employees present in the workplace every day, the professional world is a vital locus for early detection, awareness raising and support in healthcare. But this milieu remains poorly structured at the national level, with a continued dearth of documentation on the consolidation of best practices and the measurement of the return on investment of the systems implemented at companies.
A roadmap based on three key initiatives
To reflect this commitment over the long term, CNP Assurances in 2026 is focusing its efforts on three priority initiatives on preventive healthcare in the workplace, contributing to the projects led by Acteurs de La French Care:
- A national symposium on 8 September 2026 focused on the role of employers in preventive healthcare, attended by managers, experts, researchers, social partners and public stakeholders;
- A series of meetings on key topics including healthcare, sedentary work, absenteeism, and the social determinants of occupational healthcare;
- The consolidation of sector-based feedback carried out with Acteurs de La French Care members to identify transferable best practices and document their return on investment, giving rise to a dedicated publication.

Christophe Harrigan, Head of Social Protection Europe and member of the Executive Committee of CNP Assurances: “France spends more than 12% of its GDP on healthcare, but barely 2% of this expenditure goes to prevention. We invest heavily in repair, but little in prevention. Joining Acteurs de la French Care is part of our drive to correct this imbalance, the starting point being where the healthcare of the French working population actually plays out: the workplace.”
Antoine Tesnière, President of the Acteurs de La French Care association: “To build the future of healthcare in France, we need to harness all the strengths of our sector, including entrepreneurs, researchers, caregivers, manufacturers and, now, social protection players. Our partnership with the CNP Assurances Group sheds vital light on a subject that has been on the fringes for far too long: preventive healthcare at companies.”
