To serve this development ambition, the Group is completing its organisation with the arrival of Sonia Barrière in the newly created position of Head of Strategic Transformation and the appointment of Marie-Aude Thépaut as Head of the Europe outside France BU.  

Sonia Barrière joins CNP Assurances in the newly created position of Head of Strategic Transformation. She is a member of the CNP Assurances Executive Committee. 

This new division will support CNP Assurances’ strong development ambitions and in particular deployment of the transformation plan. It covers the Group’s strategy, M&A (mergers and acquisitions), CSR, research and foresight activities.  

Biography of Sonia Barrière 

A graduate of the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (1998), Sonia Barrière, 47, was previously Senior Vice President Global Operations & Traveler Experience at CWT (Carlson Wagonlit Travel) since 2020.  

She has over 20 years of experience in the service, transport and tourism sectors in France and internationally, with positions in strategy, marketing & sales, operations, technology and innovation. She has worked in various companies including Air France KLM, CWT, Avis Budget Group, Sabre, Saint-Gobain and in consulting. 

She has a real expertise in defining and implementing transformation and performance improvement plans, developing new services and acquiring new customers. 

She is an independent director and member of the audit committee of Société Internationale des Télécommunications Aéronautiques (SITA).

Marie-Aude Thépaut is appointed Head of the Europe outside France business unit (BU) and a member of the Executive Committee. She will start on June 1st, 2022. 

CNP Assurances is active in 16 countries in Europe. The new Europe outside France BU includes all the European subsidiaries and branches of CNP Assurances. In line with its multi-partnership business model, the Group has built its development on long-term distribution partnerships with well-established companies or on epen model distribution. Its subsidiaries are CNP UniCredit Vita, CNP Vita Assicura & CNP Vita Assicurazione (former Aviva subsidiaries) in Italy, CNP Partners and two branches oddices in Spain, CNP Santander Insurance (Germany, Poland, Austria, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Netherlands) and CNP Cyprus Insurance Holdings in Cyprus and Greece. 

CNP Assurances intends to continue its international development in particular in Europe, by strengthening its existing partnerships, deploying insurance solution platforms and remaining attentive to external growth opportunities.

Biography of Marie-Aude Thépaut 

Marie-Aude Thépaut, 38, is a certified actuary and holds a Master's degree from the Euro-Institute of Actuarial Science (University of Bretagne Occidentale, 2006). She joined CNP Assurances in 2006 as an actuary, before being appointed head of the French Consolidation Department within the Technical Division in 2011. In 2014, she became head of the Insurance Risk Department within the Risk Management Division, before becoming head of the Subsidiary Supervision and Coordination Department in 2020. 

In 2021, she was appointed Head of Performance Management in the Finance Division before taking over as head of the new Europe outside France BU on June 1st 2022.
