This press release is published together with La Fondation pour la Recherche Médicale.

As part of the ANR COVID-19 Flash call for projects launched by the Agence Nationale pour la Recherche (ANR - National Research Agency), CNP Assurances is contributing to the financing of research projects into COVID-19 along with the Fondation pour la Recherche Médicale (FRM - Foundation for Medical Research).

The ANR COVID-19 Flash call for projects should make it possible to select 100 research projects to help us better understand the COVID-19 virus and its interactions and to explore areas making it possible to develop curative or preventive treatments. True to its mission, the FRM has joined forces with the ANR to finance projects chosen by its group of experts from among the prizewinners selected by the ANR’s scientific evaluation committee based on their relevance to the themes supported by the FRM. As a responsible insurer, CNP Assurances is contributing €200,000 to the FRM’s fundraising campaign to help track, understand and contain the COVID-19 epidemic.

During this unprecedented health crisis, more than ever before our role as a responsible insurer is to protect people and everything they value over the long term. Along with the Fondation pour la Recherche Médicale,
CNP Assurances is keen to support the researchers’ fight against COVID-19, an objective which is fully in keeping with its mission to protect people and with its societal commitments
”, explained Agathe Sanson, strategic marketing, communication and sponsorship director for CNP Assurances.

We need to act now and to be responsive in order to meet the urgent needs of the researchers, who at the moment are seeking to understand and track the development of COVID-19. As the leading charitable financier for medical research in France into all diseases, the FRM has opted for the fastest and most effective response to once again provide vital support for all of these research teams in France. We are very proud and happy to be able to count on the outstanding support provided by CNP Assurances as part of a very meaningful partnership: by working together, we can provide researchers with the resources they need to obtain the answers we are all eagerly awaiting, as soon as possible”, explained the FRM’s scientific director Valérie Lemarchandel.
