The Foundation supports local communities to help fund and install defibrillators in public places and to raise public awareness of the “Alert, Massage, Defibrillate” actions that save lives.
Encourage the installation of defibrillators
Since 2009, Fondation CNP Assurances has funded the installation of 4,500 defibrillators and raised public awareness in more than 3,000 local authorities for a total of €3.5 million.
Call for projects: Cardiac arrest
Each year, the CNP Assurances Foundation launches a call for projects dedicated to local authorities committed to promoting the use of cardiac defibrillators.
Every year in France, 40,000 to 60,000 people die from an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. The survival rate after cardiac arrest is less than 5%.
But it is can be as high as 40% in some European countries where the population is trained in actions that save lives and public places are equipped with defibrillators. A quick reaction thanks to knowledge of first aid techniques and the use of a defibrillator could save 5,000 to 10,000 lives every year.

Focus on... our "All young people are good-hearted" program
Fondation CNP Assurances and Fondation AJILA are involved in the “All young people are good-hearted” educational project. Since 2017, thanks to this programme, 9,000 Parisian pupils (10 to 12 year olds) have been trained in first aid.
What is the principle? During an initiation day, each young person receives a “Bob”: an individual dummy used to train them in heart massage and use of the defibrillator. The young people take their dummy home and can then share the experience with their family. By spreading the best practices learned, each child becomes a link in the chain of survival.
The challenge of this operation is to raise awareness of first aid, which is a vital step in young people learning about citizenship.
